Finance
Being an estranged student at Ayrshire College means being one of our absolute priorities. Students will be able to access all the support they need from being aided to complete a funding application to ensuring that they are offered the correct advice so that they receive the maximum level of financial support. We have knowledgeable and experienced staff who will offer a broad range of information, advice, guidance and support, and who are committed to meeting everyone’s needs.
Accommodation
Our support services will offer any student advocacy support where they are experiencing accommodation issues. This can be financial, facing homelessness or already have nowhere to live. We have established strong working relationships with a broad range of external agencies that we can contact to help find the correct level of support and solution.
Mental Health
We have a named contact and a team of dedicated Student Advisors on each of our campuses who provide assistance and signpost for appropriate support, advice and guidance from pre-application and throughout the college course. We offer extended learning support to all of our students who identify any barrier to learning or participation. We have a dedicated Safeguarding team who provide support and signpost to appropriate support agencies, if a student is in crisis. Our Student Association run a number of student peer groups and clubs to support our aim to enhance student wellbeing. Additionally, we have in house Student Counsellors as well as access to refer to external agencies for out of hours counselling support.
Outreach
We aim to improve our identification of Estranged Students from application stage. We will provide priority support to individuals to reduce any potential barriers to ensure that they can access college. This will include pre-entry and on course advice and guidance. We will link in with external agencies as appropriate. This includes Schools, NHS, SDS and Social Services to increase identification of our Estranged Students and to enhance the support available.
