A specific bursary for students experiencing estrangement, alongside making available other packages of financial support for which the student may be eligible.
Accommodation
Year-round accommodation which covers the holiday periods. Prioritisation of university accommodation allocations for those experiencing homelessness. Short term emergency options if required. Waiving the need for university accommodation deposits or guarantors.
Mental Health
No cap on access to university counselling provision and referral to external low-cost counselling support. Ensure staff in counselling and wellbeing services aware of the support available from cross-university departments to estranged students.
Outreach
Named staff member as single point of contact for students experiencing estrangement. Tailored marketing and institutional literature to clearly promote the support offered to students experiencing estrangement. Foster links with local charities, foyer and homeless shelters to reach those living without support from families and promote the support available to them at AUB.
