Finance
£1,500 Estranged Student Bursary for each year of study. Access to a Graduation Grant to cover the cost of hiring cap and gown. Access to financial capability advice through accredited Money Advisers and Blackbullion. Discounted Tuition Fee for estranged students continuing to PG study at Aberystwyth University.
Accommodation
Guaranteed access to University accommodation 365 days a year and for the duration of their time studying at the University. Welcome Pack for new students (containing bedding, kitchen equipment, stationery and groceries for the first few days.
Mental Health
Allocated peer support through our Signpost Mentor scheme. Representation via the ‘Independent Students Officer’ with the Students’ Union. Access to internal and external counselling and student wellbeing support.
Outreach
A named adviser for estranged students for advice and guidance pre- and post-enrolment. Access to the GO Wales and Aber+ programmes to help estranged students gain relevant experience to transition into employment after graduation. We will continue to promote the support available to estranged students, especially the bursary, via our website and aim to build this information into future outreach activities.
