You’ll be given priority for our hardship funds and specialist advisers are available who can answer the questions you have about your finances. Contact our Student Services Hub and SU Advice Centre for advice about money.

You can apply for our on-campus accommodation with a 39-week or 50-week contract from the start of your studies and will be given priority in returning years. Our trained Residence Life team will be on call every night to help you with your accommodation queries when you are living on campus.

Mental Health

You’ll have access to a range of specialist wellbeing and mental health support from our Student Wellbeing & Inclusivity Service. Residence Life and Nightline services are available outside office hours.

You’ll have a named contact adviser from our Student Wellbeing and Inclusivity service to help you access support and answer any questions about this. We provide online guidance about living and learning support at Essex and work closely with the University of Essex Students' Union to understand students' needs and feedback. They have joined us in signing the Stand Alone Pledge.
