UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE

Finance
Estranged students (classified by SLC) can be eligible for an enhanced bursary for each year of their course (max. £5,600). In addition, Colleges operate hardship funds to which estranged students experiencing financial difficulty will be able to apply.

Accommodation
Estranged students can access year-round accommodation in College-owned halls as required. Any student who takes a break from their studies can access guidance via the University Accommodation Service.

Mental Health
Students are allocated a personal tutor by their College, who provides pastoral guidance and directs students to further sources of support where required. This might include peer support networks, free counselling service, or financial support. The pastoral and academic welfare of students is monitored closely, and any challenges can be identified quickly.

Outreach
A dedicated member of staff in the Cambridge Admissions Office is the central contact for prospective estranged students. Bespoke online information will set out the support available for estranged students.
