Finance
Develop an estranged student bursary and add estranged students as a priority group to the eligibility criteria and application information for the University Hardship fund for 2017/18. Ensure estranged students are prioritised for hardship funding awards and that non-standard awards are considered for estranged students who are in need.
Accommodation
Prioritise estranged students for on campus accommodation and develop links with accommodation providers regarding the need for a guarantor. Identify possible sources of funding to assist students with deposits.
Mental Health
Foster peer support networks with students. Promote and communicate access to internal counselling services.
Outreach
Include IAG in outreach work for young people living without the support of their families. Expand transition, progression and post-graduation support currently available for care leavers to estranged students.
