Keele already gives strong advice and guidance for estranged students. However, we aim to put in place an estranged student bursary and prioritise estranged students in existing bursary provision
Accomodation
Keele provides 365 day accommodation for estranged students as well priority accommodation for those who are at risk of becoming homeless. Keele aims to work on issues around deposits and make better links with accommodation providers around the issue of guarantors and deposits.
Mental Health
Keele already have a strong signposting system in place for counselling services. We aim to support willing students who are interested in creating a peer support group. Keele will commit its staff to training and awareness around the needs of estranged students and how best to respond to their needs.
Outreach
Keele aims to identify more estranged students pre entry as well as reach out and identify more students after enrolment.
