Finance
All financially independent estranged students receive our University Bursary and are a priority group for our Hardship Fund.

Accommodation
A guaranteed offer of University-allocated accommodation (52 week accommodation is available) Christmas Day lunch and social activities for all students in Halls over the Christmas period. Paid emergency accommodation (for a maximum period of 2 weeks) available for students who present as homeless and support to find longer term accommodation.

Mental Health

Mentor support will focus on enabling students to identify aspirations; develop skills and insights needed to achieve academic success; improve self-belief; and promote social engagement by building social networks. Estranged students’ needs will be included as part of the Raising Aspirations forum to ensure development of appropriate services by key internal areas of the university and external partners.

Outreach
Extend outreach work in schools and colleges to convey the support available to estranged students. Develop opportunities for estranged students to attend experience days and events to assist them in the process of considering and applying to university.
