Dedicated information, advice and guidance for estranged students on accessing funding and evidencing circumstances. A student funding package is provided to estranged students to help with living costs, especially at pressure points such as the summer and when planning for graduation.
Accommodation
DMU's Transitions team work with accommodation providers to waive/postpone booking fees and to provide support over the summer vacation. Kitchen and bedding items are available for those moving from supported accommodation to campus
Mental Health
The Mental Health Inclusion team provide a safe space for peer support. DMU's Transitions team are a dedicated contact for estranged students to discuss their university experience and any challenges they may be facing.
Outreach
DMU is committed to developing relationships with local charities, foyers and supported accommodation. We plan to improve our communications and the support to colleagues working in colleges and schools.
