LOUGHBOROUGH UNIVERSITY

Finance
The University provides financial advice for estranged students. Our advisers can provide information, advice and guidance on how to apply for funding and on how estranged students can evidence their independent status. They can also help estranged students create a budget and support them in managing their money effectively.

Accommodation
When required we can offer estranged students accommodation for 52 weeks of the year.

Mental Health
From 2017/18 the University will have generic pastoral support based in all academic schools which estranged students can access at any stage during the year (including the vacations periods). Students may also be signposted to a well-established, confidential counselling service to discuss any concerns or for emotional support. Those students with more specific mental health concerns can access an experienced Mental Health Support Service which has excellent links with external support services and named mental health advisors who are able to support students to liaise with their academic school and overcome any barriers to access their course.

Loughborough University is committed to providing support for students who are (or who become) estranged from their parents during their student experience. We offer a range of aspirational, pre application events and support to students to help them to understand the options available to them through Higher Education and make informed decision about the next stage of their application.
